Le Critique: Action

::Cue Mission Impossible theme song::

This week's mission: Action at 1/250 or faster
Agent: Emmy Cube
Target: People's crazy pets
Nemesis: People's crazy pets
Difficulty: ****
Reward: Slobbery kisses from people's crazy pets

I love that this was a team effort...

This is the craziest dog I've ever known and I love her for it!

Second craziest dog I've ever met and I want to kiss his smooshy face!

As a general rule I am not a cat person, unless it's a cat that is more like a dog. Meet crazy Dexter. I like him. A lot.

I thought I'd end with these couple of beauties. They're not action, but they are definitely cute so I'm going to throw them in. It's only right.

Gulliver, you have an amazing snausage face.

Dex, those eyes are captivating!

Until next time kids!

"With Love"

I can not tell you how excited I am for this post. I've been giddy for the last couple of weeks thinking about it. Well, the time has finally come to share a little Love with you all! One of my dearest friends, Melissa, has started a new business on Etsy called With Love. She is the owner and creator of the most perfectly adorable note pads and checklists that are a must have for anyone trying to keep organized while still being stylish. There's a checklist for every occasion...literally. She even makes a "Honey-do List"... How cute is that?! I'm obsessed, no wait, I'm in Love! These are definitely one of my holiday must haves this season and they also make great stocking stuffers. And at prices like these, you can go a little crazy and get them for all your friends and family! Check out the Etsy site here and check out the blog here.

A few weeks ago Melissa came to me and asked if I would shoot some photos for the Etsy store and blog. I was ecstatic to say the least. We got together a couple of weeks ago and she worked.it.out. Seriously.

Head over to With Love for updates and information on how to get your hot little hands on these adorable notepads!

Melissa, it was a dream working with you and I wish you all the success in this new business venture!

Update: Holiday pictures

Alrighty folks! It's that time of year again. I know what you're thinking... wait I still haven't taken down my Christmas lights from last year. Shame on you. It's October! Might as well leave them up now, right? Your neighbors already hate you for it so I say go for it.

Emmy Cube Photography is happy to announce holiday portrait time! It's the perfect opportunity to get the family together for a holiday shoot. Use the pictures on Christmas cards to send to family and friends or just as keepsakes for yourselves. Why not? There's no time like the present! So gather up your...kids...pets...your favorite plant (hey it's your picture!) and we'll shoot at your house or a location of your choice. Contact me for more information or to book a time and date. 'Tis the season!

I'll leave you with some more holiday family portraits courtesy of http://www.blogger.com/www.awkwardfamilyphotos.com and promise that yours will look nothing like this...unless of course that's what you're going for...in which case we may need to talk.

L'amour: Stephanie's Bridal Shower

Does fruit really count as dessert? I mean really, it's fruit! I think not. I think fruit is a free pass...even if it's covered in sugar, sitting in custard and surrounded by pastry crust. It's fruit! It's on the FDA's food guide. That means it's good for you. Yup. That's my thinking and I'm sticking to it. This has nothing to do with the fact that I ate approximately six (yes 6) mini fruit tarts at Stephanie's deliciously posh bridal shower. Y-U-M. Serious yum. They might be my new favorite dessert...errr fruit.

I get side tracked easily. Sorry.

This post is about Stephanie and her amazingly delicious bridal shower hosted by her future mother and sisters in law at Extraordinary Desserts in San Diego, CA. The food, the people, and all the details were just exquisite! All of her closest girlfriends and family came out to honor the bride and shower her with mostly appropriate gifts! ;-)

It was a champagne lunch and dessert fete with all the bridally trimmings. Stephanie glowed as she was surrounded by the most important women in her life -- in all honesty that glow could also have been from embarrassment. She is one of the most humble people I know who is careful not to draw too much attention to herself. You could see the gratitude in her eyes and I know I saw her get a little teary a couple of times realizing that all of this was for her. She deserves it though. I can't think of anyone who deserves it more.

A big thank you to the hostesses of the event, Carin, Dani and Sondra. You all did an exquisite job! And to the bride, Stephanie, for allowing us to be a part of this special time in your life. January is right around the corner!

Le Jewels: KC & Jon

I find that wedding rings like to sleep in the funniest places. But really, who am I to judge? It must be tiring being so beautiful and sparkly all the time. I just try and capture their beauty while they rest. Enjoy!

No jewels were harmed in the making of this shoot. Well except if you count the three, ok maybe four, times I dropped KC's ring. But she was a trooper and only sort of flinched the last time it went flying! KC and Jon, I'm so excited for you to tie the knot in November (eeek it's very soon!) and thanks for trusting me with your fancy, sleeping jewels.

Le Critique: Landscapes

::Cue Mission Impossible theme song::

This week's mission: Landscapes
Agent: Emmy Cube
Target: Rural Northern California
Nemesis: Mosquitoes, spiders, and all sorts of creepy crawlers
Difficulty: ***
Reward: Hot shower to remove said creepy crawlers from self. ::shudder::

Hello Sam, Whitey, and horse whose name I forgot. You're all pretty. :)

Ok this is technically not a landscape shot, but this was someones ashes up on the most beautiful hillside. I had to take a picture. It was only right.

This magical place is my idea of heaven on earth...minus the disgusting insects, and the threat of snakes, oh and the bears (yeah there are bears there!!). Ok so maybe heaven would have a lot less of the aforementioned, but still. This place is serene and beautiful if you can block all that other nonsense out. Can I go back there now?

Girls Weekend: Temecula

There's just something so beautiful and very powerful when a group of women from various backgrounds can commune together, leaving the daily grind behind them for a little R&R. They left clients, employees, patients, bosses, laboratories, husbands, coworkers, paperwork, email, conference calls, and school behind them for a two day road trip to Temecula, CA for a little female bonding. The best kind of bonding if you ask me. I might be biased, but whatever. In any case, this particular group of women I hold very near and dear to my heart. I'm pretty sure that this group may, and is probably in the process of, taking over the world. Literally. Among them are the most talented saleswomen, businesswomen, scientists, nurses and everything in between. These are the cream of the crop, people! On top of all the brains and business savvy, they haven't forgotten how to be fierce! They let it all go for one weekend of girly fun and wine tasting. And I was so happy to be able to capture this young, talented group in their prime. Work it out ladies!

Brains and beauty? I told you they were going to take over the world. Expect incredible things from this group of uber powerful and beautiful women. Thank you ladies for being so gracious both inside and out. It is an extreme honor to call all of you not just friends, but sisters.
