Le Famille: Jeff, Bri, & Rubino

This little, adorably cute, gorgeous, fun-loving, witty family has such a very special place in my heart. Yeah, I know I say that a lot, but it's true! I feel so lucky and humbled by all the wonderful people that have come into my life at one point or another. I really do.

Our little story begins about 20 years ago. Wait, that can't be right, can it? I cannot possibly have even been alive 20 years ago let alone have a story to tell about it... There's no way I'm that old. Hold please while I count.... .... .... .... Is it too early for a drink? Apparently I'm old enough to have a story from 20 years ago. Crap.

As I was saying, 20 or so odd years ago the stars aligned in just the right way with the planets and brought Bri into my life. We were childhood best friends and were pretty much inseparable for a few years. We did everything together as little girl best friends do. There might even be video proof of this locked away somewhere in a vault guarded by three fierce, burly bodyguards. Yep. I'm pretty sure that's where it is.

As life often does, it goes on. Life took Bri and me in different directions. I missed her. I thought about her often as life progressed. Then, about two years ago the stars re-aligned and we reconnected! Sparks flew. Yes they did. It's totally possible.

There is just something about childhood besties I tell you. There is a lifelong connection there. No matter how much time passes, no matter how different you are, no matter where life has taken you, childhood friends knew you way back when... and that means something. It's a connection to a previous you; an innocent, young you.

When Bri asked me to photograph her family this holiday season I think I jumped out of my chair with excitement. I knew this would be a really fun shoot and they would be up for anything...and yes they were! Driving over two hours just so I could rudely shove my camera in their faces and then waking up at the butt crack of dawn to prance around in the very crisp morning air proved it.

They.Worked.It.Out.

I'm not sure what they were giggling at, but their connection in this one melts me to my core.

Um, yes please!

I had to sneak this one in. Look at her! Wow.

Thank you so much for letting me capture your beautiful family and for continuing to let me be a part of your lives. Happy holidays Bri, Jeff, and Rubino. I hope Santa brings you everything you hope and wish for this season and in the new year!

My fav is the smooch, and Rubino looking devastatingly embarrassed that his parents are kissing infront of him. If that look doesn't say "Auntie Emmy, get me the hell out of here, fml" I don't know what does :) .

Love you, thank you.
